    hum.. i tested with my latest 1.1b, and it's not functioning... i added a style to the span, as it's not in the wp-layout.css ...
    .hilite {
    font-size: 110%;
    background: #90a090;
    font-weight: bolder;
    font-style: italic;
    }
    try it or something else, but you need a style to "enable" the visual of that feature, or your text will not be hilited at all.
    the function" hilite($text) " in functions.php is the one that supposely activate the hack, but if i search via wordpress itself, it's not working... don't know from search engines...

    Do you have the my-hacks.php enabled and add_filter('the_content', 'hilite'); in the file?

    1.2-alpha has it built in as a plugin, but it's not a release version...meant just for testing. Although I am using it on my blog without any problems (so far). :-D

    I find it kind of disappointing that it pretends quotes aren't there.... if I search on google for:
    "The Apprentice" merchandise
    I would want "The Apprentice" highlighted, and "merchandise" highlighted.... not all three words.
    I have been trying to craft a regular expression to do this, but I cant seem to tweak this perfectly
    Anybody?

    Same problem as Hella when using Google's "related" feature. The page content doesn't even display; instead I get:

    Warning: Unknown modifier '/' in /home/adalogen/public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-hilite.php on line 107
    Warning: Unknown modifier '~' in /home/adalogen/public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-hilite.php on line 105

    The related URL ends in '/' and contains '~'. I've disabled hilite for the moment, until this can be fixed.

    FYI: Dean Allen's "Google Hilite" tool also chokes on related and linked Google queries.

    Hi there, this looks like a very interestig hack, I will look into it toni, what I am currently looking for is a similar component that echo's the latest search terms used to find a specific page/post, so that at a glance of the page I can tell, how people are finding an articele and what content get's the most conversion on that page.
