   Hoping for an official G+ page for WordPress.org, saw this and not sure if it is sanctioned (haven't added it to my circles since I haven't found any confirmation of validity):

   Considering that page spells WordPress incorrectly - “Wordpress” rather that the correct “WordPress” – with a capital P, I highly doubt it!

   Thanks. I ended up emailing Automattic and Matt set up a page (also reporting the fake pages.)
