Easy Google Fonts version: 1.3.1 (latest)
    WordPress version: 3.9.1 (latest)
Theme: Twenty Thirteen – version 1.2 (latest)

Experiencing the same issue as a number of others on this forum. No options are are appearing in the Font Family select dropdown under the ‘Google Fonts’ heading. I can only select from options beneath the ‘Standard Web Fonts’ heading.

I’ve tested deactivating all plugins and the issue still persists.

A php error message is briefly appearing when I access the Appearance > Customize screen. The error message is partially concealed by the sidebar, what I can see is as follows – …/wp-content/plugins/easy-google-fonts/includes/class-egf-font-utilities.php on line 281

Has a fix for this been identified?

    Hi Dean,
Normally the plugin works out of the box but there are some occasions where some users may experience problems like the one you have described. This isn’t actually a plugin issue, rather it is a server issue (some servers do not allow the plugin to read the local fonts file bundled with the plugin). The good news is that this can easily be resolved by signing up for a google api key and putting it into the admin settings page. Let me know if you need a hand with this.

    Hi,
Having the same issue on a VPS, but same deployement on my local dev env is OK (PHP version are the same).
No PHP Error / Warning in log.

I’m tested to reinstall, disabled / enabled plugins and with Google API key, but issue persists…
    An idea ?

Establishing a Google Fonts API key resolved the issue for me.

Hi Dean, Glad you have got it working.

Hi Koryonik, please make sure that you are generating a browser key from google and that you are leaving the referrer box blank to allow any referrer. Please let me know how you get on. Cheers

    Hi Sunny,
I tried to create a new browser key from Google API (referer input void, google font API enabled). But result is the same …

Sunny, I’m having a problem creating the right API key so Google fonts show up with this plugin. When I’m creating the key I don’t see a Service for Google Fonts. Please help, thanks.

    Hi kalacreative,

Please make sure that you have enabled the webfonts api and create a new browser key (leave the referrer box blank). Our plugin will let you know if the key that you have entered is valid by displaying a validation message in the admin area (and the input turns green). Please let me know how you get on. Cheers

    Hello Sunny;
I have installed the easy google fonts plugin and activated it but no fonts visible in the drop down menu. I followed the steps to generate an API Key copied and pasted it and still nothing. I’m not sure if I missed a step or added a step in generating the key. Thanks for any suggestions

    Hi jamin77,
Follow these instructions and you should be good to go:

    1. Visit https://console.developers.google.com and sign into your google account (you will need to sign up for a free gmail account if you don’t already have one).
    2. Click Create Project and click the create button.
    3. Click into your new project and select API’s on the left hand menu.
    4. Turn on Web Fonts Developer API
    5. Once this is enable do the following:
    • Click the Credentials menu item underneath the APIs & auth menu on the left hand site
    • Click the create new key button
    • Select browser key
    • Leave the box empty and just click create.
    • Paste the API key into the advanced settings screen.

Please let me know how you get on.
