[resolved] Google Can't Find My Keywords (4 posts)

Google says it can't identify my keywords!

I started using Google Webmaster Tools to improve how my site looks to Google. Keywords was blank.

None of the normal reasons listed by Google - crawling errors, lack of an XML sitemap, commonplace words as keywords - was the case.

I wrote to the Webmaster Tools forum. A Google staffer wrote back confirming that Google couldn't see my keywords, and asked me to send them to him. He said I wasn't using h1 or h2 tags. I replied about 24 hours ago, and haven't heard back yet.

I use the All-In-One SEO Package. I enter the keywords for each page and post, as well as post tags. I can see my keywords listed in the HTML code. Is there something I'm supposed to do with h1 and h2 tags apart from this?

What's wrong? I'm no programmer. I thought that if I used WordPress I could write in English, and the right code would be generated. I'm careful to fill in all the SEO forms about names, keywords, etc.

If Google can't find my keywords, then my site will never appear as a search result.

Does anyone have a suggestion? What can I do?

    Thanks for your help.

P.S. I've read old posts here suggesting the use of a keyword plugin.

All-In-One SEO Package is supposed to do that.

My theme - The Morning After - only supports that and Headspace 2.

    Solved this one myself.

    Just for Community info -

WordPress makes your site title the only h1 tag by default. Since most people have their keywords in post and page titles, they'll be overlooked by search engines. You can swap h1 and h2. Instructions can be found here - http://www.fathomseo.com/blog/index.php/wordpress-seo-secret-switching-post-h1-h2-tags/

There are also a couple plug-ins that add h1.

I read your post and it seems like you are having the same problem as mine. I started to optimized my site last three months. My keyword ranked as number one in the search engine. Then, I decided to stop optimizing it for I have already gained a good result. However, last week, I checked my ranking again and was shocked that my keyword was nowhere to be found. My website does not appear to be penalized but I wonder why my keyword lost in the rankings. I cannot find it anywhere. I tried to search it until I reached the last page of google but I can't still find it. Any idea about this? Thanks.
