   I am trying to set up Google Analytics and Optimizer. When I try to the code Google gave to add to my URL to prove ownership, I created a new page, but when I hit "Update" on WP, the address changes from .html to -html, so of course Google doesn't recognizee it. What's up?

   that's not the way

   just open notepad or similar
   add the google code
   save with .html extension
   upload to site via ftp or host's file manager
   verify site
