    Hello Everyone,

I recently decided to make my site a bit more mobile friendly and easily added WPTouch plugin to my blog. Now, I've had "Google Analytics for WordPress" plugin installed for a very long time and I do believe that this plugin places the Analytics code in the header of the site.

So, my question is do I need to still setup the Google Analytics for WPTouch if the code is in the header by another plugin? I'm not familar with the backend of how WordPress works and not sure if WPTouch takes over preventing "Google Analytics for WordPress" plugin from placing the code in the header.

Thank you all for your time.

I finally found a tool that allowed me to view the source of my site while being viewed with a mobile browser.

It seems that WPTouch places the Google Analytics code just before the </body> tag. So, with the "Google Analytics for WordPress" plugin and WPTouch the Google Analytics code was listed twice.

I went ahead and removed the code from WPTouch to keep any possible double counts out.

If the analytics plugin didn't place the code in the header or if you placed it manually somewhere else and allowed WPTouch to use the code. You could set up 2 profiles in Analytics to view traffic from mobile devices separately from your desktop browser traffic. If you so desired.

Cool! You did the right thing- the ability to add it in WPtouch are for those not using a plugin like that in their desktop site.
