[resolved] Google Analytics Key-Code Showing On My Page (7 posts)

    There are other similar questions that have been answered BUT none of those answers worked for me.

    The page is http://www.thatwasvegan.com

    I was trying to add a google analytics plug in, and I tried a couple- Google Analyticator, Google Analytics Dashboard, and Google Analytics for WorPress. At some point I entered the "UA-XXXXXXX-1" key code where it asked for code, not realizing that was incorrect. Now it's on my page and all my posts, top left hand of the screen.

    I tried uninstalling/deleting all the plug ins, but the key code is still there on the page.

    Please help!

    Did you try to edit the theme files directly at all?

    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="http://www.thatwasvegan.com/wp-content/themes/blogolife/style.css" />
    UA-34984164-1<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="That Was Vegan? &raquo; Feed" href="http://www.thatwasvegan.com/feed/" />

    Your key is appearing in the head of your theme in plain text, no indication of what is putting it there....

    I would love to try that, but I'm not sure how to access/edit the theme file. If you could possible direct me to how to do that, I would appreciate it VERY MUCH!

    Sorry, very remedial over here :)

    I was inquiring if you HAD done such a thing! If you had not done it in the first place, there should be no need to do it now.

    The theme files are viewable from your admin panel at appearance -> editor, and then selecting header.php from the list on the right

    But I doubt your key is there if you did not put it there in the first place. So you've deleted all plugins to do with the analytics?

    Did your theme have some sort of settings/theme options panel from which you may have entered the information?

    Sorry, I thought you were suggesting that. I hadn't, and now I wont.

    And you've also solved my issue. There was an options panel which asked for Google Analytics CODE and I entered the key, and well... now I'm embarrassed.

    Thank you for your help!
