My site was working fine until yesterday, now I can't get to my wp-admin page. The problem is that some google analytics code is getting added to my wp-admin/index.php (I'm not using google analytics). Once I delete the code it's fine, but a couple of hours later it does it again.

youre going to have to do better than that, if you want **any** useful assistance.

how about providing some very obvious information:

1, whats the url to your blog.
    2. when did you upgrade to 2.6
    3. what version were using prior to that upgrade
    4. what plugins are you using that are activated
    5. have you disabled those plugins, in order to check to if one of them is the cause

I've done a fresh install (2.6.1, Fantastico) this morning to see if the problem happens again. The only plugin i'm using is Sociable (yes I have disabled it to see if it's problem, its not). Fingers crossed the fresh install fixes the problem.

Cheers. I just installed the wordpress security scan plugin and here's a screenshot of the results:

It may have something to do with the second red line:

"The file .htaccess does not exist in wp-admin/"

I have also edited the .htaccess file in the root directory to make the permalinks neater. I used the code provided in the dashboard.
