   I have a google ad box that opens dead center of the top of my header and covers half my header.

   I can't figure out how to remove it, disable it, get rid of it. Sometimes it opens as a "Search the Web" box that covers my entire header. Please, offer some direction. I went to my primary page and there are no widgets assigned. It appears to be automatic. Pleas help.

   have you followed the suggestion, and checked the plugin?
   it still has this code in your site:
   <!-- google ad injected by adsense-optimizer http://www.adsenseoptimizer.de -->

   try to deactivate the 'adsense optimizer' plugin.
   or deactivate all plugins; then reactivate one plugin at a time, to see which one is causing this iisue.

   or you have been hacked:
