Good WP Multisite Main Blog Theme (5 posts)

I'd love to hear any suggestions on WP Multisite themes for the main theme (ie. aggregation of the other blogs posts). I imagine it will require a theme plus some interesting plugins. Maybe I should just be looking for a theme that has a lot of widgets as the home page.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be welcome. My searches didn't find anything specific to the WP Multisite main theme. Obviously for the sub blogs I have a whole lot of WP theme choices.

  2. You can do it with any theme. I did it with Twenty Ten. Nearly any site that works with WP 3.0 is going to be fine with MultiSite.

And if you use the WP Sitewide Tag Pages plugin (yes, I know the name is demented) then you can aggregate all network posts without the need for widgets.

    Pretty much, yes.

Literally ANY theme can be used on the main site. Showing sitewide information on the home page is a plugin feature, not a theme.

Certainly any theme could be used with WordPress MU, but I'm hoping people know of some good WP themes that are designed well to highlight the other blogs and posts that are in the network. Any ideas?

    Andrea_r,
Other than "WP Sitewide Tag Pages plugin" are there any other plugins which help to leverage the theme to show the other blogs and posts?

There isn't any. all you need is a theme that has the right look. where the posts come from (separate blog vs categories) is minor.
