    Hello,

    I am starting from scratch. Day 1 is today. I've been doing reading reading reading, but continue to have problems running my WordPress Install Script, Step 5 in the Install Guide from the Codex.

    I signed up with 000webhost.com, and can log into the FTP with FileZilla, and tranfer my WordPress folder into the root, or tried making a sub-directory. Once transfered though, I put in my address with;
    /wp-admin/install.php at the end, and 000wordhost just brings me to like, some upgrade page with a big advertisement. (So I was thinking maybe its a scam site)

    Next up, I tried Host-Ed, but the interface is more complicated for me, and I have been unable to access with Filezilla even...

    Can anyone recommend a noob friendly free-hosting, so that I can practice installing WordPress successfully? I found 000webhost to be much easier to use with its CPanel, etc..., but the install script just isn't working for me.

    Thanks for any help... I can be more specific if need be.

    yeah... thats what I figured... So, if I just say screw and spend the 4-6 bucks for a month, or do a free trial period... any personal recommendations?

    I was using FREE just so I could attempt to learn WordPress a little, get familiar, and like...install it...

    There are many places and all have different options available of course. Did you check the hosting page at the top?
    If not you could always check Tiny here - it's ample for a first account. http://asmallorange.com/hosting/shared/
