Old Web Presence > New/2.0 Web Presence

Old: HTML, Tables, Articles page, News Page, Newsletter Sign-up (and paid bulk email service), PayPal buttons on order page.

New: ??? that's the challenge, who, what, where, why and how.

    What we've done so far:

Installed WP using blog.mysite.com as subdomain of mysite.com.

Will shift "Articles page" and "News Page" to blog.

Will attempt to get current "Newsletter" subscribers to "sign-up" at blog and use blog.

    What we are considering:

    Implementing Magento at store.mysite.com

So whats the point of this post???!!:

We are having a hard time seeing a clear way to streamline all of this.

Once its all implemented we could with have a good solution or a data management nightmare.

e.g. users subscribe to RSS feed, subscribe to Newsletter, subscribe to Blog, Register at Store = we end up bogged down in Customer/User management- assuming we want to keep track of customers and users + are now managing several databases and addressing concerns of security.

So, how are people doing this stuff?

Is it all so new its just being jumbled together on the fly or is there any methodology for "Going From Old Web Presence to New/2.0 Web Presence" and keeping it as clean and centralized as possible?
