Does anyone know where I should place Google Analytics code? It’s supposed to be posted right before the </body> tag which I can’t seem to find.

  • That should be in the footer (footer.php).

Just to add: The footer of your active theme, not any ol’ random file. 🙂

So check under wp-content/themes/YourThemeName/ for footer.php.

Or just Presentation > Theme Editor > Footer. :o)

I gave the footer a try and it didn’t work, then I found these instructions from Google for a PHP site and it didn’t work either?

    Not sure what to do.

BTW…is WP static or dynamic PHP?

I guess I’m impatient, I think the Google instructions worked. Basically you have to set up a separate analyticstracking.php file and link to it from the footer.

Did you ever determine if WP is static or dynamic? I would think it’s dynamic. Did you choose the dynamic or static code from Google to make GA work? Or does it matter?

    Thanks a lot,

    Tom
