i just hanged up with the costumer support and there first answer for my problem was your using wordpress and the problem is casued by it and its plugins..

then they have discovered that there new rule (an IP address is allowed for 5 requested per one minute if you ask for 6 requests your IP will be blocked for 2 minutes up to 4 minutes)..

and there saying that and there proud of there selves..
please anyone have any get away from this rule or should i go to another hosting??

am running a blog but many of my visitors will be processing more than 10 requests (this means my website will always be offline)

my problem is stated up here..
i have 4 websites all on wordpress, and 2 of them still under development..

i am an online developer and dont like local hosting, the problem started before 14 days when there servers gone off for 24 full hours, when i called they idmited it and they said there sorry.
then my website started to hang evey two minutes and errors come no data received and blank white pages..

i called they said its a plugin causing this things..

i delted the whole site, changed my theme, changed all the plugins (even when i was in an empty wordpress installation the problem still there)...
today i was writing an article and am blocked i cannot access the backend or front end or anything, i called them they told me same what i have said in the above comment...

now if you go to my website ( or any of them) and click refresh 6 times or go to 6 diferent pages you will see a blank page or no data recieved error)
    my websites:
    goingtothai.com
    bkkcondos.net
    marksman.me
    advertthai.com

They should only be throttling an IP there (just like Wordfence Security can do), not blocking. I would tell them to either change that or I would leave.

Can I just confirm that the error you're seeing is ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE?

no no its not... the error is that if you use 6 resources in 1 minute then your ip is blocked for 2-4 minutes and all what you can see is no data recieved or a blank white page

I need to know the actual error seen by the site owner or visitor - not the cause. Can you confirm that the error on the site is ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE?

That looks like the same kind of error we've been seeing over the past few days from other users. We'd pretty much decided that it was GoDaddy specific but getting an explanation of what is happening is tremendously helpful. Off to update as many GD related topics as I can.

I think their support lines are going to get pretty hot over the next 24 hours. If they continue with this policy, I think it would be fair to say that they are no longer suitable hosts for WordPress sites. If anyone is thinking of moving hosts, there are some other hosts listed here.

Here is what I just got after clicking several times within a minute:

    Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at goingtothai.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I just did those multiple clicks again and ended up with the same "Unable to connect" message, but then I cleared my browser and was able to connect. So, I cannot be sure as to whether or not I had been blocked. Overall, my guess would be along the line of a load speed problem here rather than blocking.

the blocking is for one minute up to 5 minutes

  18. I'm coming late to this conversation but is there any documentation on GoDaddy's site that can confirm this behavior?

I'm not doubting that this is happening to you (it is) but the 5 requests/minute should be documented somewhere and that should be posted.

the blocking is for one minute up to 5 minutes

I let the wheel spin at each attempted load for only about 10 seconds before clicking to another page at your menu bar, and then I began again right after the "Unable to connect" error. So, I think I would have fallen within that range.

i dont know if there is something about it but i didnt see anything mentioning it...

about the support you can see there answer in here:

  21. Mark? I get that you are upset (justifiably so!) but could you stop posting that facebook link?

It's not helping at all and "Likes" is not how to get this sorted out.

is there any documentation on GoDaddy's site that can confirm this behavior

The only thing That I can find on godaddy.com is http://support.godaddy.com/groups/wordpress-hosting/forum/topic/no-data-received-error/?topic_page=3&num=15

Not exactly official but it does suggest that there is a real problem that may relate to their recent apache upgrade. Cant find anything official on the GD site. Not even details of the apache update.

EDIT - oops, sorry, cross-posted with esmi on the same thread :).

FWIW, I saw this on the GD forums last night -

    http://support.godaddy.com/groups/web-hosting/forum/topic/no-data-received-error-when-trying-to-publish/

The GD rep referred people to this post:

After being on the phone with support for a bit, it appears I may have a solution. It worked 100% for me in extended testing, and hopefully will work for you too.

In the new version of Apache, if your site’s ABSOLUTE URL is referenced SIX OR MORE times WITHIN A SINGLE REQUEST, the server blacklists you briefly. ‘Single request’ in this case being the upload of the contents of your page’s HTML code via WordPress’ upload system, which could include multiple uses of the site’s absolute URL lumped into that request. As mine did, and as I’m sure is also the case for at least a few of you.

In my case, I had a number of images and links that were non-relative on a page. Once I changed them all from http://myhostingaccount.biz/websites/clientsite/ to /websites/[clientsite]/, all was well again and I could update without prejudice. A plugin that makes new images inserted relative instead of absolute is helpful for avoiding this.

Apparently this is a feature, not a bug, of the new version of Apache. Something to keep in mind to work around.

if the support is blaming wordpress and us, and the faebook page says dont have anything to do with it, and wen i called and asked for top level support they answered me there busy and cannot answer me, and the only answer they give me is to open my error logs...

    what should i do??
if i paid 1 dollar or 8799878 am still a costumer and i will give them what they requested..

am working all day and am trying to develop my website since 3 months and more, and lost my job for it, and now they do like this from the only thing i want to earn money from??!!

    am not only using facebook..
am using many other things, i posted more than 34 reviews and facebook picteures and twitter and there is still more and more and more..

The only solution I have got from GoDaddy is changing absolute URLs to relative, unfortunately that did not help at all. The post I am trying to publish doesn't even have any internal links to my blog - only one outgoing link in fact. I am able to publish, edit, or preview a brand new post with only like 5 words. But any of my real post drafts do not work.

It seems there was an official response 3 months ago that they were looking into it, but nothing since then. The rest have just been forum reps trying to help troubleshoot.

@Mark elayan I think you rfrustrations might be better put in the GoDaddy forums or a support request instead of in here. You might be able to negotiate some sort of refund for your remaining time - or hopefully we can get a solution.

    Hi Mark,
I'm the GM of Hosting at GoDaddy. We take providing a great WordPress environment very seriously and as of late we have redoubled our efforts around security and performance. To that end we’ve been implementing and experimenting with a number of technologies to help control botnets, comment spam, and other malicious actions that degrade the product and experience for everyone. Many of the changes we’ve made have dramatically improved the experience for our customers. Occasionally our attempt at blocking the bad behavior blocks some good behavior as well, such was the case with the system that caused this thread. We’ve resolved that issue and apologize for the inconvenience. We’re committed to providing a world class experience and value to our customers and will keep up the efforts.
Thanks for being a GoDaddy customer, we will strive to continue to earn your business.

hi Jeff, can i know what you have done for this issue? as the issue still preset until now, and second thing, this security measures have to be consulted with your costumers or at least you should have let your costumers know about it not just put it and miss everything up..

the missed up things in the hosting doesn't stop to this security things and its not just for wordpress, you new security says no and ignore any frequently updated website or any website that require multi action process (publishing an article, signing in with a social network,...etc)

you should be aware more about what your doing in godadddy.com and this thread / topic was not opened only for this problem, but there is sooo many other problems we have and all you have to say to us is(your using an un-supported cms and we cannot interfere in this problem)..

if you do not have a knowledge of the support then delete it from your auto install script better than having it there and telling your knowledgeable for it and you support it, you even have a dedicated wordpress hosting...

Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
    Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

I've recently (the last two weeks about) been experiencing this exact same issue. It was only yesterday that I determined that the problem was not on my end (after trying four different devices and multiple browsers on multiple networks), so I figured it must be something with godaddy, and this and other posts seem to confirm that, even though this appears to have been an common issue for everyone else 9 months ago, not necessarily recently.

What I don't understand, though, is this business about

In the new version of Apache, if your site’s ABSOLUTE URL is referenced SIX OR MORE times WITHIN A SINGLE REQUEST, the server blacklists you briefly.

I can start fresh, on a device I've not recently accessed my site on, with nothing else in the browser, and still experience this problem.

I'm not very tech savvy at all, so maybe I'm confused about what is meant by "single request."
