   I have a GoDaddy website made from iWeb and I want to do a new website with WordPress. If I install WordPress in my website directory on the GoDaddy server, will it automatically wipe out my present website? I need to have my present site stay up until I am ready to replace it with one from WordPress.

   Install WordPress in a sub-folder. Then when you are ready to switch over to the new site see Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory.

   How should I name the sub-folder? Can I name it anything?

   The download already has everything in a wordpress folder, so you ccan just upload that to your site's root folder "as is". Or change its name if you want to use something else.
