For Multisite is there a plugin that can display a list of recent comments from all blogs in the network, compatible with 3.0? Preferably with avatars.

  2. You might want to give this a try.

You'll have to code the avatar bit in yourself.

Thanks, there's also a lot of stuff that looks like it can do that here - http://premium.wpmudev.org/global-listings/ but you have to pay.

And they are damn pushy about getting you to pay, once logged in can't even visit any of the other pages except 'pay us now'.

  5. that's why I put in a free link.

These plugins rely on the db-querying function get_blog_list, which has been deprecated for its "suicidal" tendencies (if you have a lot of blogs).

I am hoping to find alternatives over in this thread.

  8. Right, but they are perfectly fine for those users who do not have a lot of blogs.

I don't seem to be getting an answer to my questions though. What is the safe method for users with a lot of blogs?

  10. You're asking the same question in a multitude of places, and Ron just answered you in the relevant single thread.

Anyone running their own large site has their own preferred methods for aggregating data.

We covered this a whole lot over in the old mu forums.

Sorry, it took me a while to even figure out what I should be asking and how I should be phrasing the question. I will be in the relevant single thread henceforth... though I've all but given up hope that what I thought was a simple question would have a simple answer =:-o

  12. Yeah, it's not a simple question. :)
