Given the ID how to I get the product and category objects ?

I am using woocommerce plugin, but am not using the woocommerce pages. I am writing my own custom theme which will talk to the plugin.

what are the functions to return the product and product_category objects ?

is there a “get_product_by($id)” and “get_product_category_by_id($id)” ?
