User Role Editor
[resolved] Give other roles the ability to edit users roles (2 posts)

    I'd like to give one user the ability to edit all users roles except the admin.

    I don't want to make him the admin. I just want him to be able to access the "User Role Editor" panel, so he can edit all users except the admin user.

    Is it possible?

    Yes, it is possible.
    At line #20 of file includes/define-constants.php you may find this

    define('URE_KEY_CAPABILITY', 'administrator');

    Replace 'administrator' here to any custom capability you added and give it to the power user you wish to have at your blog.

    If you do not wish to make this change again after every plugin update, consider to buy Pro version, which offers user interface to change URE key capability value.
