I develop a WordPress site locally. I access it using the “http://localhost/wordpress”. I use Xampp. I have to give access to my professor to find my website from his laptop in order him to be able to change things. If someone knows a way please give a hint.

It’s not an easy thing to do most times.

If you’re on a local network with your professor then you can give them the IP address and XAMPP can handle it that way. if you’re outside the same netowrk you’ll need ot figure out how to set up access from yoru own router to get to your PC to show it, then use that IP adress.

Be aware also that to do this you’d need to change the domain that you’re site runs off. If you’re currently running off localhost then every link will point back to localhost, breaking the sites links for anyone that tries to access it remotely.

If you want to have it accessable, the easiest way is to get a cheap hosting service and get the site set up on there. You can make it private in a few different ways if you don’t want it publicy accessible.

Do you have any guide that shows how to set up access from my own router in order to get my PC to show it?

Nope. That depends 100% on which router you have, and with the many 1,000 different models out there, each one is just that bit different. On top of that, not every router supports that feature. You will need to look at the instruction manual that came with your router, or the help section that it provides when you log into it from your network.

it’s a good idea to use LocalTunnel?
