A while ago a few of us WP-Minify users were discussing the various bugfixes we were using. Wouldn't it be great to have the plugin on GitHub so we can all submit pull requests and merge our bugfixes into one almighty version of WP-Minify? The plugin author seems to have abandoned development of the plugin but its GNU license makes me think it would be okay to do this.

I think @kellogg9 seems the most knowledgeable so I'd like to volunteer her to set up the repo :)

    Thoughts, anyone?

Still nothing. In the meantime, does anyone know of the etiquette around putting someone else’s plugin up on GitHub?

    Unfortunately I do not know.
But it's opensource anyway. So I do not think that there is some serious problem. Do not forget about copyrights and the source.
Also on Bitbucket there is an option to change repo owner. I think there is similar option on github. So creater of the repo can change the owner to author of this plugin at any time.

Do you plan to create the repo?

I'd prefer not to be in charge of the repo, just because I can't guarantee I'll have time to stay on top of issues and pull requests. Would love for someone else to volunteer. I would definitely be able to send some pull requests, though.
