getting transferred posts to show on an assigned "blog" page

I’m sure this is a simple fix, I’m a brand newbie so thanks ahead of time.

1st question: I’ve transferred all my blog content/posts from typepad to my wordpress site. Am using Canvas theme and all the posts show that they are there under the “Posts” section of my dashboard. How do I get those to show up on the page I’ve set up and assigned as my blog. My website: http://www.sweetpeaink.com
When I click on “blog” it does not show any of the posts.

2nd question: Any idea how to get rid of some of the white space above my header? I’d like to move it up.
