[resolved] Getting trackbacks when not checked in admin (9 posts)

I seem to be getting constant trackbacks on all my multisite blogs recently. I have "Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks)" unchecked in the discussion settings. Is there somewhere else I need to disable this?

  2. Are they unchecked on all your sites?

Honestly I have not checked all of the sites to see if it is. But I have it unchecked on the main site and it gets about 20 trackbacks a day that I am spamming in the admin panel.

  4. Well there's a massive difference between "all my multisite blogs" and just one site :)

Were those posts made before or after you unchecked the pingbacks box?

Agreed. :) But I do know a few of them have been getting them. Very good question. Honestly I am not 100% sure. The trackbacks seem to be on the same 2 posts and nothing else.

So the box may have been unchecked after the posts were made.

  6. Right, you gotta go back and turn off pingbacks on the older posts :)

What a simple fix! Thanks for the help. I had to go under screen options and select discussion. Hope that was correct?

Is there a way to have the trackback box unchecked by default for all of the existing and new sites?

  8. Hmm.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wpmu-new-blog-defaults/ perhaps? I haven't tested it for that.

Looks like this should work perfectly! Thank you for help as always. It is much appreciated!
