I want to use the logo I have on the main page of my site instead of having WP put my site name in my header.
Any way I can get what WP puts on off without removing the title from (sorry, not being technical) the top top of my browser?
I tried removing some code from the index.php, but when the wording was gone from my pic, the name disappeared from the browser.

    yeah, tell me about it!
Well, it's the first time I've tried this, so I'll chalk it up as a learning experience.
But it looks great in Safari! Trust me!

Well, I wish I could show you what I mean.... but imagine, on the WordPress logo above, that a link for WordPress was over it. So you'd have two wordpress' up there, on top of each other. I want to get rid of the one WP is putting on and keep mine, or hyperlink mine.
And I'm not sure which file and which bit of code does that.
And, as you are well aware ;0) I'm very new at this.

Yeah. I was messing around with borders in that screenshot. I was trying to get it to have a feel like the main page at http://www.landofmidnight.com with the black and white. But, I may start again and go in another direction.
And thanks for taking the time to look it up! I appeciate it!

Oh man! You're having fun! If at any time you need to press the reset button, you can always put a copy of the plain vanilla index.php and style.css files, so go ahead and hack away :)

actually, I am having fun! And this is really all new to me. I've done some basic html pages before, but nothing like this. I've owned Dreamweaver for a couple of years, but never got into it. Thought it was way too complicated.
But now I get to play around. See what works, or, in my case, what doesn't work.
And I have the original files tucked safely away, just in case...
