Getting rid of (no title) in admin area (2 posts)

I have a lot of posts without title on my blog. It is very unconvenient to find a particular post in the admin posts area because the list just says (no title) for every that post.

How do I change list to display 100 first symbols from the post content if its no title given? I want to make it as a plugin to be safe during updates.

Unless all of your posts are hierarchical, I believe it's not possible to "cleanly" alter the title column short of rewriting the entire page. It is possible to add a custom column that displays excerpts however. It involves hooking the action 'manage_posts_custom_column'.

(BTW, you can also protect your custom code in a child theme)
