Getting Pretty permalinks working on a Mac 10.5 server (4 posts)

I've got WordPress workoing on our webserver which is running Mac OS 10.5.5 and Apache 2.2, but I can't get pretty permalinks working correctly. it's writing the .htacess file, and I've found and changed "AllowOverride None" to "AllowOverride All" in various places in various conf files, but it's still not working. I suspect I've still got an "AllowOverride None" hiding out somewhere still, but I'm not sure where to look.

    so far I did /etc/apache2/httpd.conf
and there are several files in
/etc/httpd/sites/ but I'm not sure which files need to be edited.

then again it may be something else entirely at this point, I'm hoping someone out there has some more ideas.

    OK, I found it.

I knew about changing "AllowOverride All" in the httpd.conf file, but it also needs to be changed in a conf file for the site. On a 10.5 server running Apache 2.2, that file is found in /private/etc/apache2/sites and will have the ip address and domain name in the file name.

Mattface you are awesome, thanks so much for posting the solution (this was causing me such a headache!)

In case anyone else is stuck on this, here's a useful link.
