As soon as I updated this plugin. I started getting following message as warning
" Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function 'wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header' not found or invalid function name in /home/mywebsite/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403 "

Please tell me how to fix this ???

@osify yes and it really looks bad.. when u can see warning on your profile .. I don't exactly what is the problem.. but some problem in header reference .. Can anyone solve it ??

Otherwise the plugin update is nice and the admin panel now looks more organised.. which is a very good .. I appreciate the recent changes .. :)

I'm getting an error, so deactivated this plug-in, but need it badly as it is EXACTLY what I need to create my simple membership site.

'Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header' was given in /home/b3ach/public_html/oneyearretirementclub.com/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403'

    I get a similar thing

Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function 'wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header' not found or invalid function name in /home/thesec17/public_html/clandestinecakeclub.co.uk/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403

and I've now deactivated the plugin and now use ' New User Approve' which is not as good, but does help stop spammers registering.

Hopefully this problem will be solved soon .. If anyone is in contact with the developer, please intimate him/her... :)

Hi Linn,Guerilladesigns & ossify how is ur experience with buddypress going on ??

    Hi Shashankism
I've not activated the plugin since the error. I'm still using 'New User Approve' but I've seen a drop in registration, not sure if it's because of this. I've not seen any comments from the developers, perhaps they are busy working on solving the problem. I hope it is resolved soon, because it was a very nice plugin to use. It really did the job.

Hi Lynn.. to check spammers Banhammer and this plugin is a must... Otherwise you can't easily stop them as they spam in large numbers.

Only thing that I dislike about wordpress is spamming.. there are a lot in numbers and they are automated probably .. I don't know hoe they do it ..

    Hi shashankism

Thanks for the advise. By approving new users, this helps stop the spamming on my site via registered members, akismet stops all other spam comments etc.

    Hi lynn,

As per I know Akismet is a paid service. Isn't it ?? If its free please give tell me how to use it or provide me a link for the same...

akismet is free, it came as a plug in on my website. It's the extras that you pay for, which I don't use. This is the link. http://akismet.com/?return=true

    Hi
    Great plugin.
Am building a site, and really like the plugin, seems the perfect solution. Am using wordpress 3.4.2, buddypress 1.6.1. Like above when logged in the following message occurs.
"Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function 'wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header' not found or invalid function name in /var/www/virtual/mysite.com/httpdocs/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403".
If there's a solution, or an upgrade version of the plugin I'd be first in queue. Thanks.

Akismet can be used free of charge, but only for websites that are not for profit, or charities. You won't be getting any benefit from Akismet unless you get a security key and add it to the akismet configuration page on your site.

I don't think that Akismet will stop spammers from registering on your buddypress-enabled site.

I would also like a resolution to the wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header warning problem please.

It looks like the function wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header is missing in plugins/bp-registration-options/includes/core.php. The offending code is at line 200 and just seems to be used for outputting a custom message at the top of the member profile page. I have commented line 200 out on my site and it seems to work ok after that. No guarantees for your own site, though, and a proper fix by the plugin developers would be best.

Many thanks dmjarvis for this info about the offending code.

@dmjarvis... great it worked .. now profile page looks good...
hopefully it will not harm other functions.. isn't it ??

yeah a proper fix by the plugin developers would be best.:)

    Same problem:

Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'wds_bp_registration_options_bp_before_member_header' was given in /home/builders/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403

Thanks dmjarvis for the temporary fix until the developer can let us know what the proper fix is.

Posted a new version of the plugin on GitHub:
    https://github.com/jibbius/bp-registration-options-wp3.5

Hopefully when the developer comes online again, he'll use it to formally update the plugin. For now, anyone that wants to can download for their own use.

jibbius your version seems to work fine...

That's awesome. Thank you jibbius, you made it! Where to donate?

How will I know whether there are further updates?

Dear BuddyPress developers, could you please make the admin approval of new registrations a core option?

No worries mathiaspriebe, and no donations are necessary :)

For now, I don't want to take full ownership of the plugin (the original developer may return)... but I am making some tweaks that I think are useful. If you'd like to receive notifications of these, sign up to GitHub, and click "watch" on my code. You'll get an email if I introduce a new feature, and you can decide if it's useful to you.

This will be my approach for now. If the original plugin developer remains offline, then I'll look at making my "version" more official.

I am currently working on an enhancement, so that unauthorised users can be assigned to a different user role within WordPress. This will allow for more flexibility in choosing what unauthorised vs. authorised users can do.

Yes, people behind the plugin will return. I need to get commit access still but I have already browsed the entire support forum for this plugin and noted down all of the issues listed and patches and whatnot. I was not around for the original releases of it, so I won't be a pro at answering the support questions around it right away, but hopefully I'll get familiar with it quickly. We're not letting it die yet, it just got neglected longer than we wish due to other work taking priority.

jibbius, I am aware of your github repo copy and I'll likely be diff'ing to what we originally have and seeing what changes you made to see if we want to revise/improve those or accept as-is. The moment anything from your copy gets pulled into ours, you're getting credit for helping. I know you've done a lot around this subforum to help others. WebDevStudios appreciates it.

    That's great news Michael!

I actually didn't end up finishing that unapproved/approved roles enhancement (I know all about other work taking priority :) ) but the repo is definitely in working order.

    Anyhow, glad to help.
The wp community has certainly done that for me already.

    Cheers,

Good to hear that! Thank you Michael and jibbius for taking care of the plugin. It should be core for BuddyPress.

We're getting up to 30 spam registrations every day with a relatively small site and really appreciate the opportunity to let them in and ban them further on.

What I'd have on my wishlist is another option. Is it possible to hide profiles as long as they aren't approved? Most of those idiots just try to leave backlinks and they should not get the opportunity, not even for a few hours.

Thank you and please keep us posted.

Sorry for the long month. Finally found time to get going on this. As of the 4.0.1 release, much of jibbius' contributions were pulled in and/or merged. He is also listed in the credits.

That said, I'm still going through the other issues presented and doing what I can to get them resolved. Please start new threads for any that come in, as I'm going to mark this one resolved.
