Getting new posts on the home page (4 posts)

I have a website with a news and announcements section in the sidebar. My posts are supposed to replace each other under the N&A heading and then end up on my blog page. When I upload a new post it goes to my blog but the N&A section on the sites pages does not reset to show the most recent posts. Also, if I want to get rid of a post, the feeder still stays on the sites pages but the content is gone. How do I get the new posts to show up on the N&A section of my web pages?

Its not easy to troubleshoot without sight of the site, but here are my two best guesses:

Does the post need to be assigned to a particular category to appear in news & announcements? Check what categories existing posts in that section belong to.

Are the existing posts in that section set to sticky? If so this could be preventing new posts from replacing them.

    the site is http://www.vermontwineschool.com.

The posts are categorized under News & Announcements. They are not set to sticky. the site is brand new (one week). I was told by the developer/server that the posts would replace each other. I have the number of visible post set to 3. Even if I delete a post I cannot delete the feed from the site pages.

Thanks for the link. how are the posts being listed in the news & announcements section in the sidebar? - ie what type of widget is being used and what are its settings?
