Getting my domain name on my new blog site - using BlueHost (3 posts)

I have moved our small church site from a local hosting co to BlueHost since they had what looked like the easiest way to create a Blog site and use a personal theme. We've got the site ready to go at http://74.220.219.70/~sacredj1/demo/.

I want a person to be able to type http://www.sacredheartowatonna.org and get the site listed above.

I have tried the various help items I found on Woordpress to no avail. I've sent bluehost a service request and got the same things from them. They are mentioning the same sort of thing.

Is anyone else using BlueHost and if yes, how can I get my files moved from teh demo folder to the main folder. I've tried and it didn't work.

Where is this, http://www.sacredheartowatonna.org hosted now? You need to change the nameservers. See https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/1?step=1

Bluehost normally is very good in helping to set up WordPress.

Before trying to move your site from the demo folder directly into the public_html, you should access your admin dashboard and go to Settings > General and edit your WordPress and Blog URL to match the URL that you want your site to be access at.

Then you can move your content out of public_html/demo into public_html

If you have already moved your content and did not update these settings, you can still update the URLs in PHPMyAdmin.
