    Hello Everyone

I am new to wordpress. I tried to upload it using Fantastico. I keep getting this error message:

    Install WordPress (2/3)
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'cruche'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1294256806.12271_JxOxdaaah on line 1640
Access denied for user 'cruche'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Instead of using fantastico to install WordPress, I recommend taking a little time do it yourself.

Otherwise, contact webhost tech support for assistance.

This is what namecheap tech support said:

This error means that you may mistyped login details for you wordpress database. Please doublecheck theme.

The only login details that I have for wordpress are the user name & password I used to join this forum. Am I supposed to join wordpress.com to get a new username & password? I don't see a place to join on wordpress.org.

WordPress.com has nothing to do with your self-hosted blog.

The fact that you can post to this forum means your username and password is working. But the username and password here at WordPress.org has nothing to do with the respective usernames and passwords for your database and your WordPress install.

This error means that you may mistyped login details for you wordpress database. Please doublecheck theme.

So go to your WP install e.g. http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin and click on lost password link so that you can retrieve your log in information.
