I'm very lost - I could not fully customize the layout in wordpress [use my own banner] so I created a website.. how can I move my blog into that domain .. is it even possible?
If not, how can I fully customize my layout in wordpress? I can't even find where the source code is.

Moving WordPress is a place to start if you are moving WordPress to a new domain. Of course if you don't have much to move it might just be wiser to do a new installation.
Customizing your layout is a very broad subject. You will want to review some of the articles in Blog_Design_and_Layout and in the design and layout category of articles in Codex.
