   Huh!

   I've discovered that get_categories does not display categories that do not have posts in them. That's sorta inconvenient to what I'm trying to do with it, and I don't see an available option to allow empty categories.

   Is there another function that would allow me to view empty categories? I would rather avoid direct queries!

   w00t! Never mind. Long day.

   "hide_empty" was the parameter I was looking for.
