   How do I get rid of "Just another wordpress blog"?
   And edit the "About this site" area?

   I swear I'm not dense - I looked everywhere including through all the code...

   For your first question: WP Admin >> Options >> Tagline

   I'm not quite sure what you mean "About the site". Sorry!

   Take a look: the tagline and About this site are the same. I'd like About this site to be more descriptive without cluttering the image at the top.
