   I am suprised that there still is not an option in wordpress to disable gravatar.com avatars and only use local images.

   Does anyone know how I can get rid of gravatar.com from wordpress?

   Hi Samuel,

   That is a great plugin, but due to WP core coding it still trys to redirect to gravatar.

   So there is no way to turn of wordpress gravatar redirects? I'm using a local default avatar, and users are able to upload their own avatar if they want to, but i don't want to use gravatar, and my YSlow keeps telling me i should get rid of the redirects.. i have tons from gravatar.. and there is not one avatar on my site that uses gravatar.
   It's a shame you can't turn it off.. anyone has a hack?

   It would be nice if WordPress would resolve the gravatar redirect issue so that hosting locally isn't needed.
