Get most popular posts on high traffic website (1 post)

    Hi,

    We are currently developing a high traffic WordPress website. The client would like to sort on most popular posts. We are using Facebook comments as a commenting system, so we cannot count the comments.
    Most solutions I found will involve server load in some way. Is there a smart way to still get popular posts and keep the load down on the server?
