   In exporting a custom taxonomy, the rewrite slug is blank ('').

   This causes the rewrite rule to match pretty much anything, and all pages then 404.

   Fix / workaround: always make sure that the slug has a value.

   ntemple, thank you for posting this! You just saved me so much time. I was going crazy trying to figure out why half of my site was pulling up 404 errors.
