Adding a new site to an existing multisite setup caused the following error log:

[04-Jan-2012 17:55:42] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_option() in /…/wp-content/plugins/genesis-style-select/plugin.php on line 95

The site was created but did not show up on the dashboard or backend. Deactivating the plug in fixed the problem.

The plugin requires Genesis and so isn’t designed to be network activated, it can be activated on single sites that are using Genesis themes.

Will be design to be network activated on future version?

It is unlikely to ever be intended for network activation, even if I did make it so that it would just do nothing when Genesis is active there are themes that it will conflict with for various reasons. The solution is to just use it as needed on sites in the network.
