We have a form on our website (www.gratitudeheartgarden.com) which works fine and places the users e-mail automatically in the e-mails reply field, as would normally be expected.
I would like to actually populate the reply field with a special e-mail address which could then be forwarded to trigger a phone call.

My dilemma is that we sell an occasional on-line item and I don’t have anyone watching the computer all day. It would be great if the e-mail generated a phone call. A solution I found for this is using IFTTT.com triggers (which are very cool, btw) but it identifies the sender via the from field of the e-mail. And this would work just fine if I could populate the from field with my own specific e-mail address, or have the form generate 2 emails, one from the user, and a second with the from field as specified.

Am I clear? Any ideas if or how this can be done?
    Thanks,
    Pradhan

  • It’s possible to do and not that hard, but it depends on what pluign your using the for the form. If the plugin supports it then you can, but if the pluign doesn’t have any way of setting this up you might have ot od some hacking to get it to work.

Another option that’s possible is to set up an auto-responder on the “to” email address that responds to the email address that triggers the phone call. That sort of thing is normally set up in your hosting contorl panel area, not WordPress.

Thanks, the auto-responder doesn’t quite work…in that it responds to the originally sent e-mail address, ie, it is essentially a reply. The trigger is activated via the from address. I will play with the plugin to see if I can make it happen. Thanks.
