General Theme Question

    Ok so this will be odd request, I am using a free theme uploaded to wordpress and the persons site is down but I am looking to contact the person because I made a splash page to match the theme and would like to know if I can offer the splash ( for free of course ) without getting into any trouble, the only thing it uses besides the general look is a modified background image; I used his background but altered the color from red to grey. So what would you guys recommend? A link back to the wordpress theme page?

    Check the license in the theme’s style.css… that may tell you what attribution is required, if any.

    All themes accepted here on WordPress.org must be GNU Licence.

    License: GNU General Public License

    If you downloaded it here you should be fine, the licence details would as sixhours said be in style.css, also there should be a text file licence.txt as well in the themes folder, as it would not pass the requirements without.
