I have a issue. And it is my fault.
I uploaded the wordpress onto my website. And it was working fine. Until I un.. installed it from my .. directory? Is that what you call it? But.. I did that and I HAVE NO IDEA why I did that. But I did sadly and now its horrible. But I re uploaded it but now its giving me some problems. When I try to login or go straight to wordpress, it says that the file wp-login doesn't exist. So I tried looking in the documentation and it said to delete and reupload it.. so I did that and I got to wordpress.. it goes to a page.. that says I've already installed wordpress. I don't want to REinstall wordpress.. but since this problem is here does that I mean I have to? But if I have to .. it says to clear my old database, what does that mean?

I'm dreadfully sorry if this sounds ignorant.. I know my mistake is very stupid. ahah, so frustrated!

Oh yes. and another question. If there was a new version, such as 2.7 (just an example) and I were to RE download that instead of upgrading it, would the same problem still occur or would I have to start over?

Make sure your wp-config.php file has the correct values including the $table_prefix. If your host gives you access to phpMyAdmin you should be able to look at your database and see how your tables are prefixed (usually 'wp_' is the $table_prefix).

Might also make sure you have a backup before continuing. Read WordPress Backups.
