I notice there are a lack of websites (even the official plugin website) for GD Star Rating to manually display the thumbs rating for your post or page. Even the manual doesn't seem to explain how this is done. So I spent hours looking for this and ended up searching the plugin code and found the required php code to manually insert the thumb article rating into your code.
The code for manually inserting the thumbs rating is as follows:
