    Greets:
I’ve upgraded WordPress yesterday from 2.0.2. to 2.0.3. I was careful to make sure that I’ve taken out the appropriate files/directories so that they wouldn’t be overwritten. It was mainly, in this case, for WPG2, because there was a subdirectory deep inside the wp-includes directory that needed to be backed up. I’ve also left the wp-gallery2.php file alone, and dumped the plugin from wp-contents (after deactivating the plugin).

The upgrade for WordPress went fine and good. All of my plugins appears to still work properly….all, that is, except for WPG2.

Truthfully, I’m not sure what has broken the gallery’s front page via the wp-gallery2.php file (http://www.urbanlandscapes.org/wordpress/wp-gallery2.php). But as of now, clicking on my albums causes a long URL string to appear on the title bar of my browser. On the status bar, I can see that something has happened, but that the front page of the Gallery still remains. In other words, clicking on an album doesn’t take me there. It’s a bit unpredictable, because sometimes it does it…especially when I tweaked within Gallery’s or WPG2’s site admin tools. But more often than not, the error is consistent.

I’ve tried reinstalling WPG2 after deactivating the software, but the symptom still persists.

I should mention that the standalone Gallery page sans WordPress (http://www.urbanlandscapes.org/gallery) appears to function normally.

Any insight as to how I can fix this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!

  • Ozgreg has a forum for WP-G2, you might want to search on there.

It sounds to me like something with .htaccess — if you know anything about that file, take a look at it. I know WP2 writes .htaccess differently from the way WP1.5 did, so there might be something with Gallery to change there.

Turns out that I had to turn off URL rewrites in the regular Gallery page (sans WordPress), then turn it on in the wpg2gallery.php window. Did the trick!
