Gallery tab disappeared from Add Images in Post (8 posts)

    Hello

I have a problem with the disappearance of the Gallery tab from the Add Images window when making a new post. I presume there is something going wrong with the Gallery shortcode.

    The backstory:

I am using the wordcycle plugin which wraps the gallery shortcode into the jQuery Cycle plugin.

I originally setup wordpress to run from mysite.com/blog and once it was running smoothly I transferred it to the root and gave wordpress its own directory.

Now when I upload images they show in the Media Library tab, but there’s no Gallery tab at all and the slideshow shortcode doesn’t work.

It shows still on the ‘old’ posts (those added before I changed the WP directory) but I can’t figure out what’s happened…

    Can anyone help please?? Thanks

Sorry I should clarify that the gallery shortcode is renamed 'slideshow shortcode' when using the Wordcycle plugin.

WordCycle may be looking in the wrong place. I'm assuming you mean you've kept the blog in /blog, code wise, but it 'acts' like it's in root?

Can you roll your blog back to being in /blog all the way?

Thanks for your response, yes the files are in /blog acting as though in root.

I can't roll everything back to /blog, but I could move all the wordpress files to the root.

I've been in touch with the writer of the Wordcycle plugin here - http://blog.estherswhite.net/wordcycle/comment-page-1/#comment-2552 - and tried her suggestions. I disabled the plugin and there is no Gallery tab even with the plugin disabled.

Everything as I said worked well before giving wordpress it's own directory, so I assume that's where the problem lies...

  6. Right, so something didn't get set right in the move, and I'm not sure what. Though that said ... what gallery tab?

I mean, I look at mine, and there's no tab to say 'gallery' I get this: http://twitpic.com/ls23p

The gallery tab 'activates' as soon as you upload an image.

WordPress added gallery functions to core code since release 2.6 I believe.

Looks like I may have to bite the bullet, move the whole package back to the root and hopefully all will be well again.

It seems it's a bug others will have problems with though, most probably when giving wordpress its own directory, so it would be best to solve the problem...

  8. I had to think about this...

If the gallery tab isn't showing up for your OLD posts, it's because the gallery location may not be updated right.

    Go to Admin->Settings->Miscellaneous Settings

Check where you have 'Store uploads in this folder' set up.

Also, you may need to go into the SQL and move the image locations. I have this half memory of goofing it all up when I moved mine off to a subdomain.
