• Hi all, am a novice so please be patient with me! I have found that the images on my Gallery slideshows are appearing in a “jumping” manner and I would like to know what steps to take to have the slideshows (images) run smoothly. Perhaps with a slide fading effect if possible? I am using Photocrati theme (which had its own Gallery options) and then later installed NextGen Gallery so is there a conflict? Or do I need to look at changing my Lightbox Effects settings to another type? And should I only apply the lightbox to NextGen images or try for all images? – thanks in advance for your help!

  • @camcreations27 A link to the page with the issue is necessary.

@camcreations27 – As @tizz suggested a link to where this is happening would most likely be very helpful especially if it is directly to the page/post where the gallery has been inserted.

    Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in response, I have been away. Here is the welcome page link showing the ‘staccato’ issue of the slideshow flow

…the other x3 slideshows here at:
http://www.cameracreations.com.au/portfolio/ (if you click each gallery) have the same issue. I look forward to your advice, thanks so much!

@camcreations27 – I see the effect your are referring to … and we had believed this to be fully addressed although in your case there may be more to this issue than what we suspected.

Are you seeing this in all browsers? Does the issue persist if you temporarily change to a default WordPress Twenty series theme? I don’t suspect a plugin conflict, unless you have other related active Lightbox Effects running.

Hmmmm the plot thickens! If I usually use Chrome on the imac and have this problem but switching to Safari made a big difference – slideshow was a lot smoother. Then I tried both safari and chrome on the ipad and both are fine. So seems to be only when using Chrome on the imac – although Photocrati Member you mentioned you had the same issue on your device with your browser? Not sure what to do about this…

@camcreations27 – I originally described this as a “flashing” effect when I first noticed it right after a Chrome update. We made a specific adjustment to the plugin’s CSS to address this particular issue and it went away on all of the sites I tested afterward.

I just re-checked your site and I am no longer seeing the “jumping” or “flashing” effect I recalled … are you still seeing the same issue?

Hi there, thanks for the response. Yes I am still finding it happening on my imac with Chrome but not with Safari and not on my ipad (Chrome)…any ideas?

@camcreations27 – I just checked on an iMac (with Chrome) and my MBP (also with Chrome) and I am not seeing the effect any more; have you tried clearing your browser cache, or using an “Incognito Window”?

I will try by clearing my browser cahe – but could you please explain how to use an “Incognito Window”? thank you

@camcreations27 – In your Chrome browser window, look to the top right corner for the “hamburger” icon (three stripes, one on top of the other); click on that.

A menu will open and there should be an option for “New Incognito Window” … or you can press <Shift>-<Command>-N (at the same time).
