    Hi all,

    I’m new to WordPress, but I have my site pretty much up and running.

    I am looking for a plugin that allows images to be managed in albums or galleries and for slide shows to be created from those galleries.

    I’m using WoW Slider, which uses the Nivio (I think) jquery slide, which is quite nice, but doesn’t allow the shows to be created from a WordPress album.

    You can create a pretty nice gallery or slideshow within WordPress without a plugin.

    Open a page or post to edit it.

    Choose Add Media.

    Over on the left hand side of the add Media screen choose “Create Gallery”

    Choose the pictures you want in your gallery or slideshow by clicking on them.

    Then click “Create a New Gallery”

    On the right hand side of the page you will see a dropdown. For a image gallery choose “Thumbnail Grid” and for a slideshow choose “Slideshow”. When you choose “Insert Gallery” it will insert the gallery or slideshow in the page/post.

    Thanks for your reply!

    I followed these steps up to Create a Gallery, but I don’t see this drop down option. I get Gallery Options drop down with Link to and options of Attachment Page, Media File, None, then Columns and Random Order. I have two sites, one real and one test and the same thing happens on each site, one uses the Mantra them and the other uses Twenty Twelve.

    What am I doing wrong, please?

    Hello,
    I have the same problem. Created a gallery but I don’t see the dropdown menu to choose “Slider etc…”
