• …one of the largest hosts for WP in the world is going to give you issues.

I was getting ‘error applying discount code’ [1] and did some snooping around these forums. I saw a semi-related answer about recent changes where home_url was changed to admin_url, since some home_urls don’t process PHP depending on how a site builds their home page.

That’s cool and all.. but a lot of other sites also screw with access to wp-admin.

I changed back to home_url() and the errors stopped. WPEngine uses a same-origin-policy. THis is the second ajaxurl issue I’ve had with them when ajaxurl was wp-admin.

    Just an FYI.

  • Thanks for that info, but there are a few other issues users are constantly running into with WP Engine, so we actually advise against using it on the recommended hosting section on our site.

Ya I think we’re slowly realizing all of those too (cookies, sessions, etc) 😐

Thanks for sharing this. We should maybe at least make it easy to filter how/where AJAX calls are made to get around the various setups people might have.

FYI, I think you can make those changes to custom checkout page templates so you can still upgrade PMPro without overwriting your changes. Check the update notes of future releases in case we add a hook to allow for this.
