I have tried to publish a few posts with future dates to get ahead of the game for vacation. Unfortunately, the posts have reverted to the current time/date and were published instantly, included in the feed, etc. Any ideas on what may have gone wrong?

You probably set the date fields but neglected to click the check-box labeled "Edit Timestamp". At least, that's what I do all to frequently. The dates are ignored if you don't check that box.

I am slapping my head and saying d'oh. Thanks so much for pointing out the obvious and the overlooked.
