• I’m fairly certain I FTP’d correctly my newly downloaded(and fully zipped) theme to my wp-content/themes folder but even after I activate it in the admin panel, a lot of the images are missing from the theme when I load the actual web site. It seems, though, that everything is within the folder that I transferred. Is this a common rookie mistake?

    Thanks in advance,

    Andrew

  • Often themes unzip to a subfolder named the same as the folder itself

    eg website.com/blog/wp-content/theme/theme/your_files

if your wordpress blog installation isn’t buried one level too deep, simply move it one level up so your path reads

    eg website.com/blog/wp-content/theme/your_files

I FTP’d the unzipped theme and its files to the destination: /public_html/exerciseproductreviews.com/wp-content/themes/snapshot but when one actually goes to exerciseproductreviews.com, many of the images do not show up. Is there some sort of file I must delete, similar to deleting the index.html file before uploading a template for regular websites or something I must add before the theme shows up properly?

    Thanks again,

    Andrew

what’s the url of the hidden image files?

Normally themes ‘just work’ by unzipping them and putting the contents under the wp-content/themes/ folder so there’s no special trick to installing themes. Which FTP client are you using?
