FTP/GODADDY/WORDPRESS purchased outside theme ISSUES (2 posts)

I am having an issue that might be a bit difficult to explain. I installed wordpress on to my site hosted by godaddy and had to deinstall it because it was installed incorrectly... I left /wordpress on my site and I did not intend to. After I did this I was not able to log in again.

Now, when I log in to my wordpress to get my theme to be accepted it won't work because my ftp is linked to my old information and my new wordpress site won't read that information in... if that makes sense? I called godaddy and they were unable to help.

I'm so frustrated, I have no idea what to do and what's worst is that I can't explain my problem properly and I paid for a theme that I can't use.

Basically, if I can try to reword this, I can't get my theme that I purchased on my website using ftp. My theme is in the ftp site but not on my wordpress.

    Any tips?

Godaddy suggested calling wordpress to have them sync up the old database etc but that doesn't make much sense since you CANT CALL WORDPRESS!
    argh argh argh

Any tips/help that anyone can suggest will be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

  2. Let's rewind a little. If you don't have ANYTHING in your blog, at this point you should just start over since you've clearly gotten yourself all turned around.

How did you install WP in the first place? WordPress DOES NOT change your FTP information, so unless you have some 'WordPress package' with GoDaddy, where THEY installed it for you, you should have simply FTPd the base WordPress files to your server and made an SQL database. "Uninstalling" is simply 'delete the files and database' so that's really pretty basic.

If your theme is in your FTP site but NOT WordPress, you probably just need to move it to the wp-content/themes folder.
