   I have first uploaded several audio files while creating new Post through Add Media function. I decided to try uploading files through FTP and uploaded several audio files through FileZilla. I uploaded them to the Upload folder in my WordPress directory where I found files I uploaded earlier through the add Media. Now when I try to add these to my Post through add media it doesn't show them in the Media Library or elsewhere though I can see them through File Manager. Is there a specific folder I need to upload media files to to be able to access them through add Media function?

   If you want media to be available in the media library then it needs to be uploaded via the media library (the WordPress media uploader), else WP doesn't know the files are there.

   Alternative(if you must use FTP), is to use a plugin like the following.
   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-from-server/

   Hi I've added this plugin 'add-from-server' using the add plugin facility to upload from my PC but I get a Wpress message 'cannot add from server' so this sdes not seem to work. Any ideas?!

   Okay, I deleted the plugin files and reloaded via WPress and the plugin works a treat!
