• Do I have to allow someone like godaddy host my site to use FTP? I am trying to use FTP and can not connect. All the links say I need an FTP account and password for the server. Well, no one is hosting it.

  • Where is your site hosted? Which company?

As far as I know, it is not. I have colepack.wordpress.com and I own colepack.net and have it forwarded. that is all I have

so it is hosted as a free blog on wordpress.com then?

If so then I don’t think they allow FTP access, but you are better off on the WordPress.com forum

a memeber told me to come here since wordpress is not hosting it. so, who is the cheapest hosting site?

but wordpress is hosting it – wordpress.com

how do i get them to stop hosting?

Sign up with a good web host and download and install wordpress.org (click the download link above). Then you can export all of your posts from your wordpress.com account by going into the dashboard and selecting manage >> Export.

Then in your new wordpress.org install which will presumably be on the domain colepack.net you need to login to the dashboard and then go to Manage >> Import.

Then all of your posts, pages, comments and links etc will be there.
